The Columbus Regional economy is diverse, with no sector taking up a majority share. That’s unique for a city, and, great for workers! It means that opportunities can be found equally in just about any industry and sector.
There are six major sectors that really make up our economy. These sectors are based on a few things: our geography, or where we’re located in the US compared to other cities, and our concentration of creative people, tech people, and business headquarters.
The major sectors found here are:
- Science and technology
- Headquarters and business services
- International business.
Dynamic industries within those sectors include fashion and apparel, personal care and beauty, food and nutraceuticals, medical devices, data analytics, automotive, energy, finance and insurance, information technology, and retail and e-commerce.
